Black Garlic products tend to become more and more enjoyable by the foodies lately, although skeptical at the beginning, and I can truly understand now why there is this turn-about.

Everything began in “Downvillage”, an experimental farm in Greece with starring product the humble white, fresh garlic which is being “processed ” for about 40 days until it becomes a super light, sweet and well- rounded BLACK tasteful product; the Black Garlic! A very innovative idea and production procedure that came from people who really love what they are doing and try to develop their products every day. The black garlic is already registered as a ‘ Super Food’ because of its antioxidant power and nearly double nutritional and healing properties in opposition to the common white garlic..”

The company’s slogan “once you go black you ‘ll never go back” (coming from the sixties) is absolutely to the point as the black garlic is far more tastier and ‘provocative’ to our gustatory palate than the original white one.

Among their range of amazing products, I really LOVE the Black Garlic Caviar! Its honey and coffee notes along with its smooth texture give a sweet explosion into the mouth. Plus, it’s so versatile that someone doesn’t need to have a thorough knowledge on tapas or sandwiches to use it; put it on a slice of bread, on crackers or straight on grilled meat as a topping (…my favourite one) and for sure you are going to impress your guests with your cooking and food styling skills! So so delicious!
